Passion Play 2010
The story of the Passion Play in Oberammergau is associated with the Thirty Years War.
The plague raged in Oberammergau and as the plague killed many habitants in 1633 some citizen promised to play the passion of Jesus every ten years - should the affliction come to a fast end.
The historical tradition doesn´t talk about more victims. In 1634 the citizen of Oberammergau starts to carry through on their promise.
Since that time the citizen of Oberammergau are playing their Passion Play.
